The annual Midwest Literary Festival is a favorite event, along with Downtown Alive, which runs every Friday night from June to August and has live music, food, children's activities and car show.  The Farmer's Market has been going strong for 94 years every Saturday morning from June to October.  There is a city celebration for Independence Day and also the annual Holiday Magic event in late November.
