One Museum Park

It's been a few years since developers rediscovered the South Loop. This area of downtown Chicago has seen a lot of new condominium projects since that time, and some of the best are still on their way.

One development that stands out from the rest in the South Loop is One Museum Park, located at 1201 South Prairie. This development is a project by Enterprise Companies, which is currently developing several buildings in the area, including 1400 Museum Park and 1600 Museum Park.

Buyers can choose from several floor plans at 1201 South Prairie. A total of 298 units are being built, with completion of the 54-story tower planned for 2009. The developer offers a number of ultra luxurious one, two, and three-bedroom units for sale. Prices for one-bedroom units range from $320,000 to $600,000.

Several two-bedroom units are also currently listed on the market. Prices for these units start at $607,500, with several ultra luxurious floor plans available for more than $1.2 million. The largest penthouses at One Museum Park sell for as much as $2.5 million.

Each unit at One Museum Park comes with a number of luxurious amenities. All residents will enjoy incredible lake, park, and skyline views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Gourmet kitchens come with granite countertops, custom cabinets, and a brand-name appliance package. The master bathroom offers a separate shower and soaking tub, and the finest fixtures on the market.

Residents also enjoy hardwood floors throughout the main living areas, a private balcony or terrace with incredible views of the downtown Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan, and carpeted bedrooms.

This full amenity building will offer everything imaginable to all residents. The building comes with a 24-hour doorman service, an indoor heated pool, a party room, and a modern fitness center. The sundeck is the perfect place to get to know the neighbors or entertain friends. Parking is available in the underground garage, and can be purchased for between $35,000 and $60,000, depending on the space.

One Museum Park is located within walking distance of many of the most popular destinations in Chicago. Grant Park is right at the front door, making it easy to escape from the noise of the city and enjoy a brisk morning walk or take in some sun. Museum Campus offers several world-class museums, and is just a few minutes from home. Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears, is also within walking distance.

Commuters can do away with the daily trek to work on buses and trains, and just walk to the downtown Chicago business district. There are several El and Metra connections in the area, with stations along Roosevelt Road. All of Chicago is within easy reach of One Museum Park.

The real estate market in the Loop is booming despite a general downturn in sales across the city. According to data from the Chicago Association of Realtors, 2007 was the second best year for sales in the Loop in more than 16 years. The number of luxurious new Chicago developments on the market is driving prices through the roof in the area. The average sales price rose by an incredible 51 percent in 2007, and shows no signs of backing off in the short term.
