Lexington Park

Lexington Park Condominiums is the first foray into American development by Ireland based Chieftain Group.  Overseas, this company has earned a reputation for innovative design and quality craftsmanship in their buildings.  They decided on the South Loop area of Chicago because of the rapid growth and secured backing from Corus Bank for the project.  With over $115 million in funds earmarked for this development, Lexington Park Condos are sure to become one of the more sought after places to live.

The condominium is being constructed where the previous Lexington Hotel once stood.  The new building will be 35 stories tall and contain 333 living units when completed in late 2008.  Plans call for 36 of those to be lofts and 297 to be luxury condos.  Chieftain is determined to market these condos at a very attractive price in the range of only the low $200,000 mark up to mid $500,000 for the one and two bedroom residences.

The actual design is a mid-rise building that will be joined to a high rise.  The outer facade is constructed of aluminum and glass walls, but with conservation in mind, many of the building's materials were actually recycled products.  The project received LEED certification for its efforts in being environmentally responsible and the building offers trash recycling for its residents.

The interiors of the condo units contain all of the standard luxury details.  Floor to ceiling windows, bamboo flooring in the common rooms and Mohawk/Portico Ultrastrand Stainguard carpet in the bedrooms are included. The kitchens have durable granite counter tops and energy efficient stainless steel appliances including gas range.  The master baths contain wood vanities, Moen fixtures on the sinks and bathing units and the floors are made from Carrara marble.

Lexington Park will house a 640 square foot exercise facility complete with free weights, cardio machines and even a separate yoga room.  The lower floors of the building will contain 18,000 square feet of retail space with several different shops and services offered to residences.  With bicycle paths along Wabash Avenue and Roosevelt Street, the building's bike storage area and clothes changing room comes in handy. The lobby is attractively decorated and is attended by a 24 hour doorman for security.  Heated indoor parking on four levels means you never have to look for a parking place again or scrape ice and snow from your windshield.

Lexington Park's roof is perfect for relaxing or entertaining guests.  The roof top deck stretches for over 15,000 feet, making enough room for a pool, dog run, numerous grill areas and is even landscaped with local native plants to make it a green space.  Residents can also entertain family or friends indoors in the Party Room, which has 1,300 square feet of space available as well as a large kitchen to handle food preparation.  Holidays, celebrations or even business meetings can he held there with ease. You’ll never have to worry about having enough room to invite all the people you want to your party.

Outside Lexington Park there are dozens of attractions and places to visit.  Summer music festivals and art events are held in nearby Museum Park, Grant Park and Millennium Park.  Museum Campus is filled with educational and cultural opportunities.  Gaze at the stars at Adler Planetarium, catch up on science at The Field Museum and learn about aquatic life at Shedd Aquarium.  All these great places are waiting to be explored.  Soldier Field hosts some of the biggest sporting and concert events in the country.  For water based activities, residents have both Lake Michigan and Burnham and Monroe Harbors at hand.  From boating to just sunning on the beach, residents can enjoy the water in three out of four seasons a year.

Chicago has many of the best restaurants, coffee houses, bistros, specialty shops, fashion outlets and retailers in the world.  They are only minutes from home when you live at Lexington Park.  A craving for sweet and sour pork or pasta can be satisfied in nearby Chinatown or Little Italy.

Lexington Park condominiums offer the luxury life at affordable prices, all located in the South Loop of Chicago.  The neighborhood attractions alone are priceless and if you add in the comforts of the homes in Lexington, you have quite a bargain there.
