The Legacy at Millennium Park

Bringing over one hundred years of experience to the table, Chicago developers Mesa Development and Walsh Construction have an ambitious project with the Legacy at Millennium Park.  These two companies have a solid reputation for building homes that last for generations, never going out of style, and the Legacy is sure to be another.

The Legacy is being constructed at 60 East Monroe Street in Chicago and is expected to be completed sometime in 2008.  It is both a contradiction and combination of architecture in that the building's base, the lower 14 levels, are being sheathed with the reclaimed facades from three vintage buildings, while the ascending upper levels of the 73 story tower will be modern glass, concrete and steel.  The shimmering glass will reflect the lush green of the nearby Grant and Millennium Parks, the relaxing waters of Lake Michigan as well as the limitless blue of the Chicago sky.  It should make for an interesting visual effect.

Plans call for the 15th floor to consist of an outdoor garden and sundeck, complete with beautifully landscaped plants and flowers.  Residents will be able to enjoy this green space or entertain guests there. Another amazing feature of the Legacy is the planned sky bridge that will connect the building to The University Club.

The lobby of the Legacy is fully furnished and decorated, making it a welcome place to meet your family, guests or even business associates.  There is always a doorperson on duty, twenty-four hours every day to provide security and greet you.  Other lower level spaces include many retail spots and service areas for residents.  There is a Concierge Receiving Room, a mail and shipping room and even dry cleaning and valet services.  Secure indoor parking is provided, along with a storage room for bikes and more storage lockers for all of your recreational or sporting equipment.

The Legacy intends to meet the health needs of its residents by providing a fully equipped fitness center.  You can exercise with free weights or work out on the cardio machines.  A large, indoor heated pool is waiting to be used as well as a relaxing spa to relieve stress.  And if all of that wasn't enough to keep residents of the Leacy busy and entertained, there are more beautiful gardens, meeting and gathering rooms and lounges on floors 42 and 60.

Living at the Legacy puts you close to all of the excitement Chicago has to offer while maintaining the free feeling of living close to the parks.  With Grant and Millennium Parks so close, residents have easy access to the festivals and events often held there throughout the year.  Plus, there are endless outdoor activities to keep you healthy such as jogging, walking and biking.  Lake Michigan beaches host a number of music events during the summer and the beaches themselves are some of the best places to spend your free time.  Boating, swimming or just watching the sailboats is possible with just a short walk from the Legacy.

Chicago is home to some of the best restaurants, bistros, coffee houses, and cafes in the nation and with Michigan Avenue only minutes from the Legacy, residents can basically have their choice of food and beverages any time.  Retail shops, specialty boutiques and high end fashion shops line the Avenue.  The many theaters, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, Art Institute and Field Museum are even more options for entertainment.

The individual condo units in the Legacy total 355.  Prices range from the mid $400,000 up to over $8.5 million.  Bedrooms vary from one to four, with baths ranging from one to 3.5 per unit.  Floor to ceiling windows let natural light into the condos and allow for more of the spectacular view.  The rooms are all wired for high speed Internet access.  There is hardwood flooring in the common rooms, wall to wall carpeting in the bedrooms and tile in the baths.  The kitchens are spacious with the highest quality stainless steel appliances and durable yet attractive granite counter tops.  The master baths are roomy and have custom natural stone finishes on vanities and stone accents throughout.

The Legacy at Millennium Park offers five star living to its residents, along with the natural beauty of the nearby lake and parks.
