August 25, 2010 - The developer of Astoria Tower is still marketing Chicago condos at reduced prices. The 30 story art deco high-rise is located on 8 East 9th Street and all of the units are ready for immediate occupancy. The condos are priced anywhere from the mid $160,000s to high $800,000s.

The biggest perk that this Chicago real estate project has hyped is it’s spa-like amenities for residents. The tower has the usual, such as a 24 hour doorman, business center, theater room, party room, fitness center, two sundecks with BBQ area and indoor swimming pool. But Astoria goes a little beyond the usual with its massage rooms, yoga and pilates room, nail and pedicure salon, billiards and game room plus a golf simulator.

August 24, 2010 - Fresh produce and Chicago condos may not be two things you usually think of together, but next weekend you can shop for both if you like. According to a recent press release, Trump Tower is hosting a farmer’s market on the rooftop of the high-rise September 2nd from 7am to 11am. The Sixteen restaurant, on floor 16 of course, is serving brunch and is the organizer for the farmer’s market.

The restaurant has been serving themed meals and this week is Prairie Produce week according to the press release. The produce used to create the meals this week will be vegetables, fruits, cheese and meats grown on nearby Chicago farms. Representatives from those farms will be the vendors at the farmer’s market. The public is invited so you will be able to enjoy the market even if you don’t attend the brunch.

The 92 story Trump Tower also made news not long ago by being named the number one large city hotel in the United States and Canada for 2010 by Travel and Leisure Magazine. According to a Crain’s article, this ‘best of’ award is the first time the Chicago real estate project has been ranked by the magazine.

August 23, 2010 - Once again Chcago real estate developer Draper & Kramer are advertising the recent price cuts that they implemented on the last unsold Chicago condos at Lake Park Crescent. A Tribune profile states that the reductions at this Chicago real estate development reach as high as 40% off original list prices.

The sales manager for Lake Park Crescent is Robbi Davis who was quoted in the article as saying that, “You can now buy a three-bedroom CityHome for as little as $289,800, down from up to $498,000.”

There are 68 total Chicago condos and row homes at this development which is located on 4060 South Oakenwalk Avenue. Prices on the remaining unsold two and three bedroom with den residences are now listed from $369,800. The previous prices were as high as $613,000. These units also come with a sky terrace that is almost 400 square feet. There are only two one bedroom condos left and those are priced from $169,800.

The remaining four bedroom row homes come with a family room and are priced from $479,800 which is considerably less than the old price of about $786,000.

Parking is included with most units. Condos get one indoor space and outdoor space with the row homes come with a two car garage. All of the units also have either a deck, terrace or private yard.

If you qualify for an FHA mortgage, your down payment could be as low as $1,000 because of the Partnership for New Communities grant that is still available.

Unit features include granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchens, hardwood floors in the common areas and carpeted bedrooms plus marble vanity tops and floors in the baths.

You can check out the Lake Park Crescent sales center on Mondays, Saturdays or Sundays from 12pm to 4pm. You might want to visit a few more sales centers at developments with new Chicago condos for sale just to compare perks and prices.
