Ritz-Carlton Residences Finally Under Construction

July 14, 2009 - To rephrase on old saying, Prism Development is finally “puttin’ up the Ritz. The Ritz-Carlton Residences that is, on 644 North Michigan Avenue. It seems like it has taken an awfully long time to actually start construction because crews have spent months saving and storing the facade of the Farwell Building. It will become part of the new 40 story luxury tower, and according to the exclusive marketing agent, Rubloff, the Lucien Lagrange 1930s designed high-rise will have everything from “flying buttresses, carved panels, and a crown of lighted art glass.”

Right now there are still 49 of the 88 Chicago condos for sale at the Ritz. The building as a whole is around 45% under contract. If all goes according to plan, residents will be able to move in sometime in 2011. Prices run anywhere from around $1.4 million to over $5 million.

As you’d expect, the one to three bedroom units at the Ritz will come with plenty of luxury finishes. Everything from wide board wood flooring, 10′ to 12′ ceilings, spacious balconies, walk-in closets, smart-home features, stone bath tile, whirlpool tubs, granite counter tops and wood cabinets, double sink plus Miele, Wolf and Sub-Zero kitchen appliances.

The 10th floor Landmark Club boasts a salon, bar, billiards room, wine storage and theater room. And of course residents will have standard Ritz services on tap such as housekeeping, valet, concierge, 24 hour doorman and chef.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences are one of the very few large developments currently under construction with
Downtown Chicago Condos.
