Prices Falling On Final Units At The Metropolitan

May 20, 2009 - Before its conversion into luxury Chicago condos, the 30 story Metropolitan Tower began its life as an office tower in 1924. The 2007 renovation produced a nice selection of 245 one to four bedroom units, and now the remaining twelve or so condos are being offered at reduced prices. The final handful of unsold units vary in size from one to three bedrooms and their list prices have been dropped anywhere from around $50,000 to more than $250,000.

The one bedroom, one bath condos listed on the building’s site had been priced from $299,900 to $396,600 and now run from $249,900 to $269,600.

For the two bedroom, two bath units that previously were priced from $534,900 to $919,900 you’ll see price reductions that bring them down to $399,900 to $649,900.

For the three bedroom, 2.5 bath units still available at this Chicago real estate development, the original prices of $919,900 to $959,900 are now lowered to $649,900.

Finishes include GE stainless steel appliances in the gourmet style kitchen, solid wood cabinets and granite counter tops. The master baths sport Grohe faucets and fixtures, a six foot soaking tub and marble vanity tops. Oak flooring runs through the common living areas with wall-to wall carpeting in the bedrooms, ample closet space and a washer and dryer is included. Building amenities include a 24 hour doorman, fitness center, sundeck, bike and personal storage space plus indoor parking.

These price reductions may be a good chance for any buyer who has had his or her eye on The Metropolitan to own a Chicago Luxury Condo.
